Associative Operation

Any operation for which (ab)c = a⊕(bc) for all values of a, b, and c. Addition and multiplication are both associative. Subtraction and division are not. For example, (3 + 4) + 5 = 3 + (4 + 5) but (3 – 4) – 5 ≠ 3 – (4 – 5).
